PUBLIC ADVOCACY
We strive to promote the fundamental human rights, the principle of equality and non-discrimination in practice, to contribute to transparent decision-making and enforcement of rights in these areas, and to encourage public involvement in the decision-making processes.
Also, we endeavour to raise public legal awareness, develop people’s abilities to solve simple legal problems without the need for legal assistance from professionals, and to participate in decision-making on public affairs. We help people to actively and independently exercise their rights on equal terms with public authorities.
Concrete examples of defending citizens’ and public interests:
Public disclosure of the privatisation agreement of the Slovak Telecommunications company
- OaD: State Must Disclose Information without Excuses
- Court: Decision on Non-disclosure of the Slovak Telecommunications Sale Agreement is Unlawful
Amendments to the Terms of Transport of the Slovak Lines bus operator
Right of the public to participate in decision-making procedures (petition to the European Commission)
